Everyone has done it. They feel a little under the weather, but nothing serious. So they go to work and take public transportation. Then they are sick and all of a sudden their coworkers and friends start showing similar symptoms

What should you do to stop the spread?
  • Wash your hands, carry hand sanitizer
  • Cover your mouth when you sneeze and cough
    • The best method is to use your elbow since you can't always wash your hands right away
  • Throw away used tissues
  • Do not share food and drinks
  • Wash your desk area
    • you touch it, eat at it, drink at it, sneeze and cough; clean it up
  • Stay at home if you are sick
The following is from the CDC website:

Most healthy adults may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick. Children may pass the virus for longer than 7 days. Symptoms start 1 to 4 days after the virus enters the body. That means that you may be able to pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick. Some persons can be infected with the flu virus but have no symptoms. During this time, those persons may still spread the virus to others.

For more information visit the CDC website.
